What happens in July 1914?

4 July: Archduke Franz Ferdinand's funeral takes place at Artstetten, Austria-Hungary.

28 July: Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia.

31 July: Russia orders full mobilisation of troops against Austria-Hungary.

           The German Reichsbank halts the exchange of bank notes and small change for gold currency in order to preserve national gold stocks.
