Romuald Karmakar will be in London over a weekend to present two films, which represent two different thematic strands in his work. The first film, shown at the Goethe-Institut, London, on Saturday, 14 February, VILLALOBOS, is a portrait of the musician and DJ Ricardo Villalobos, a film that closes a trilogy documenting the electronic and club culture scene in the first decade of the 21st century.
The second film, THE HIMMLER PROJECT, shown at Tate Modern on 15 February, is concerned with understanding the ideology of fascism and forms part of Karmakar’s exploration of war and violence, the different forms they take and the thinking that drives them.
