Albrecht Dürer, Heller-Altar (1507-09)
Albrecht Dürer (1471-1521), from Nürnberg in Bavaria, is generally considered the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance. He is particularly known for his altarpieces. This one was created for the nobleman Joseph Heller of Frankfurt, and is therefore known as the ‘Heller Altar’.
