Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Brandenburger Tor (1915)

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) was a German Expressionist painter and one of the founders of the artists’ group Die Brücke (‘The Bridge’). Kirchner painted many Berlin street scenes such as this, reflecting the energy and dynamism that he perceived in everyday life.
